staring, staring, staring-

unafraid,

as if the robin knows

there's glass separating them from me.

and still, they stare-

as a tortoise shell cat

catches my eye-

walking in the neighbor's yard,

far away from the bird,

until disappearing under

an elevated porch.

all while the robin stares
